Abnormal State- Digital Art Creativity Results Exhibition

Zhongshan Senior High School for Girls Result Show

On December 19, Digital Art Center, Taipei began to hold a series of lively activities as part of the “Abnormal State- Digital Art Creativity Results Exhibition.” This exhibition emphasizes the promotion of digital art creativity in Taiwan, has deep educational significance and aims to allow young and old to easily understand and appreciate technology creativity. From December 19 to February 27, 2009 the exhibition will be shown in various cities and counties in Taiwan, putting on display the digital art achievements of the people of Taiwan.

 

The exhibition features three winning works in the interactive installation category of the last three Taipei Digital Art Awards, “Speaker Tree”, “City Diary” and “In the Office Versionπ/4”, all of which will become part of the center’s collection, and also works by young people from the KT Creativity Award. Also, works by new generation digital artists including Huang Xin-Jian, Chen Chi-Jian and Li Jis-Hsing, etc are part of  the exhibition. In total, 40 interactive installations, sound art, digital game, digital audio-visual and anime works from Taiwan are being shown. The aim is to allow community residents to easily acquire an understanding of digital art through seeing, hearing and touching, getting to know the fun of art as if playing a game, making the smiles on the faces of the people the most charming feature of digital art in the community.

 

In addition to the special exhibition of works by digital artists from Taiwan, from December 19 a series of lively peripheral activities began. iCenter managing director Liu Hua led a digital art workshop in which members of the public were able to try their hand at digital art creativity. Following easy-to-follow and amusing instructions participants were able to produce digital art works. A variety of educational and promotional activities will also be staged, for example the youth forum organized by teachers from Zhongshan Senior High School for Girls and Li Jia-Hsiang, seeking to promote digital art and make it part of life through various methods.
