To promote the move into the international market of e-learning companies in Taiwan, leading companies jointly participated in a related international exhibition in late July-early August under this project. Taiwan’s leading e-learning companies participated in Japan’s e-Learning World 2008 - Expo & Conference during which a “Taiwan Pavilion” whole marketing method was used. Japan has one of the most mature e-learning markets in Asia and the e-Learning World 2008 - Expo & Conference is the biggest e-learning exhibition in Japan and Asia. Since 2006, when the Taiwan Pavilion method was used for the first time, outstanding achievements have been made in the event. This year, new highlights and more resources were brought into play to show the special features of Taiwan products, with the objective of cultivating the market and searching for opportunities to cooperate with Japanese companies.
Nine leading e-learning companies from Taiwan participated in this activity: Idealist Information Co., Ltd, CyberLink Corp., IQ Technology Inc., SUN NET Technology Co., Ltd., Best Wise International Computing Co., Ltd., TSS Technology Co., Ltd., Hebron Soft Limited, L Labs Inc. and SECO Technology Co., Ltd. This year the Taiwan Pavilion was once again next to the entrance and had brightly colored decorations, making it very noticeable as soon as visitors entered the venue. This year the display platform was on the edge of the venue and the discussion area was in the center of the booth, allowing suppliers and buyers to discuss business without being disturbed. On the front and back of the display platform were highly-visible large posters showing the products and technology of the companies from Taiwan, visible from the corridors and from the business discussion area. In addition to marketing through whole packaging, companies also actively participated in the opening ceremony and dinner. The Industrial Development and Promotion of Digital Archives and e-Learning Project director Chen Gwo-Dong was invited to give a speech during the dinner. Chen Gwo-Dong also visited the organizing body to engage in exchanging and maintaining a good relationship to promote business cooperation between Japanese and Taiwanese companies.
Also, on the eve of the exhibition the e-learning companies from Taiwan visited Sun Microsystems Japan, where the company showed a lot of interests in Taiwan’s technologies and products. Taiwan delegates and the company’s senior managers exchanged the ideas on the development of the e-learning markets and management strategies in Taiwan, Korea and Japan. This activity gave both parties a better understanding of Asia e-learning market. Let the Taiwan companies evaluate the Japan and Korean markets from different perspectives as well as achieve the readiness into the international market.
