With the evolution of the times, the running of museums has also evolved, with the value and functions of museums continuously expanding. As one of the top five museums in the world, the National Palace Museum holds more than 670,000 items of fine Chinese painting, calligraphy, antiquities and rare books. It therefore carries even greater social expectations and cultural responsibility, and must also make more proactive efforts to explore new, non-traditional means of education and exhibition.
For these reasons, the National Palace Museum has particular set up the "Colorful e-NPM" Exhibition at the Huashan Creative Park. The rich collection of the National Palace Museum is the basis of this perfect demonstration of the Museum's digital archiving efforts, offering an educational experience that is a wonderful complement of the real and virtual. By combining human culture with modern technology, classical masterpieces are re-interpreted in a manner that steps away from traditional display models and avoids limitations of the exhibition area. The viewer is given greater autonomy and opportunities for learning with all five senses, enjoying the fun of an interactive exhibition. Here we are "forming new vitality for the collection, creating new value for the museum"!
