Who Should Attend the ESRI Education User Conference?

Explore the Possibilities of Geographic Learning

The conference provides a forum for members of the education community to come together and share their experiences and knowledge. The EdUC covers everything you need to know to start or to grow GIS activities and programs. Held in conjuction with the ESRI User Conference (UC), EdUC registration includes attendance at the ESRI UC Plenary Session and Map Gallery Opening and Evening Reception.

How Will You Benefit?

  • Discover New Products, Lessons, and Books
Learn how GIS is used in many different disciplines and explore new teaching materials for using GIS in your classroom.
  • Network with Your Colleagues
Meet educators from around the world who are using GIS in educational settings through user presentations, special interest group meetings, and informal networking. Conference tracks such as Teaching with GIS, GIS for Planning and Administration, and Using GIS in Libraries help you connect with other attendees with similar interests.
  • Experiment with New Technology
Try out new technology and lessons at the hands-on Computer Labs.
  • Troubleshoot Issues with Technology Experts
Bring your questions about data, pedagogy, and implementation to the ESRI staff for one-on-one discussion and trouble-shooting.
  • Kick Start Your Educational Lessons and Curricula
Discuss your project ideas with the ESRI Education Team and ESRI Educational Services Instructors. Brainstorm ideas for new lessons with people who know how to teach GIS effectively.
  • Get Updated on Industry Trends
During the Monday plenary session, ESRI President Jack Dangermond and a team of experts share trends in the computing, GIS, and IT industries and how these trends have made a difference in our world. Find out how these trends might affect your work in education.
  • Learn about New Opportunities, Data, and Curriculum
Through hands-on workshops, paper sessions, and the EdUC Expo, learn what new and how you can be a part of it.
  • Share Information about Educational Research
Discuss recent research in the implementation and effectiveness of GIS at all levels, spatial thinking, and spatial cognition. Brainstorm ideas for starting additional research that is needed.
  • Be inspired
No matter if you are new to GIS education or have been using geotechnologies for years, the ESRI EdUC offers days of inspiring sessions, meetings, discussion, and enjoyment to energize you with ideas and tools that you can put to work immediately in your classroom and on your campus.
