The 2010 TELDAP International Conference was organized by the “International Collaboration and Promotion of Taiwan e-learning and Digital Archives Project.” It is an important event for exchange between scholars in the e-learning and digital archives and other fields from Taiwan and overseas. The venue for the conference March 2-4, 2010 was the Humanities and Social Science Building, Academia Sinica. On the morning of the first day at least 150 scholars from Taiwan and overseas were in attendance.

In addition to inviting Wang Fan-sen to speak, the organizers also invited Hwang Pi-twan, honorary professor of Tainan National University of the Arts, to present a paper: “Digital archives and the cultural industry” in which she explained the current state of development of Taiwan’s creative and cultural industries, linking the archiving of traditional culture and new cultural industries, two very different fields. She believes that through constant re-interpretation through research, educational and industrial activities, digital archives and culture will become important assets for Taiwan’s social cultural literacy and aesthetic taste.
It is worth mentioning that to publicize topics and to share TELDAP achievements with people all over the world “International Collaboration and Promotion of Taiwan e-learning and Digital Archives Project” has opened an account on the popular on-line game Second Life. By visiting this space Second Life players can see an introduction to TELDAP’s results. This shows how TELDAP’s promotion is moving with the times.
