工作坊說明：國際上於2007年開始推動《生命大百科》(Encyclopedia of Life, EOL)計 畫，準備將地球上180萬個物種以一物種一網頁的形式，將豐富的圖片和影音資訊公開分享。台灣官方目前統計已知物種數量已達5萬種，特有種數也高達8000餘種，擁有如此豐富的生物資源，實為國人之驕傲；因此，有鑑於國際對於生物保育意識的重視及鼓勵民眾參與，今年《台灣生命大百科》(Taiwan Encyclopedia of Life, TaiEOL)也應運而生，本工作坊目的在於使社會大眾了解生命大百科平台使用，鼓勵推廣國內專家學者與民間愛好者共同編輯與分享生物多樣性資訊，內容中安排國內外生命大百科介紹及平台的操作使用，並邀請兩位國內民間專家與大家分享其個人網站建置之甘苦談，鼓勵資料公開與共享。
