面對數位時代資訊型態轉變之挑戰，如何協助使用者取得所需資源成為圖書館的重要課題，美國國會圖書館於2010年6月正式發佈之RDA（Resources Description and Access，資源描述與檢索）正是因應數位環境而發展的國際編目規範。為掌握此重要資訊組織國際趨勢，本館與中華民國圖書館學會共同邀請美國國會圖書館政策與標準部主任Dr. Barbara B. Tillett進行「RDA發展趨勢及其於語意網環境之實踐」專題演講，並安排兩日「RDA講習會」。
