1. What are Dongba scriptures?

In recent years Yunnan has been a popular tourism destination and, as a result, the many minorities of southwest China are often introduced in the media. One of the most popular places for tourism is, without doubt, Lijiang old town where the Naxi live. In addition to diverse Naxi music and dance, the Naxi’s unique Dongba script and Dongba scriptures also are the focus of visitor attention. What are the Dongba scriptures? They are scriptures used by Naxi priests in religious ceremonies. Naxi priests are called Dongba so the script written by Dongba is called Dongba script and the scriptures used by Dongba are called Dongba scriptures.
