Savour the beauty of Chinese characters
Chinese characters are the most artistic of the world’s scripts;as well as recording and expressing meaning they are also an expression of beauty.

The calendar was made using characters selected from character copy books from various eras in the collections of the National Museum of History, the National Palace Museum and the Fu Si-nien Library of the Institute of History and Philology, such as Shang Dynasty oracle bones and white pottery calligraphy and the Han Dynasty Juyan Bamboo Slips.

Carefully researched dragons theme
Made and issued by The Project of Historical and Cultural Heritages developed in the Institute of History & Philology of the Institute of History & Philology, Academia Sinica.

In coordination with the Year of the Dragon, dragons in the archives were taken as the source materials for design, with the dragon shapes of archaeological artifacts, ancient books oracle fragments and files and documents carefully chosen, finding lucky symbols in ancient cultural relics.

Subtly moving, flying dragon leaping tiger

There are two themes, on the one hand, the moving delicate flower and grass specimens and, on the other, imposing dragon shaped seals.
 
The calendar has an ancient style background and it seems that the passing story in the tableau is waving at the viewer from one side .This extremely elegant calendar has deservedly be described as beautiful.

Dragon patterns from the calligraphy paintings, objects and documents were carefuly chosen, majestic flying dragons drawn using simple patterns and complex lines used to depict dragon shapes.
